Restomod 1963 Corvette Convertible 6.2L LS3 V8 Automatic A/C ///
This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible restomod retains the unmistakable styling of the early C2 while incorporating extensive mechanical and interior updates. Finished in Long Beach Red Metallic, a color introduced for the C7 Corvette, the fiberglass body features a ‘67-style Stinger hood, traditional Corvette brightwork and a cloth convertible top. Chrome 18" C7 five-spoke wheels complete the stance and are backed by red calipers and drilled and slotted rotors. Power comes from a Chevrolet Performance crate LS3 V8 backed by a GM SuperMatic 4L65E 4-speed automatic transmission and a Dana 44 rear differential with 3.45 gears and limited-slip. An all-new black powder-coated Corvette Correction chassis utilizes C4 independent suspension front and rear, Global West adjustable suspension components and power rack-and-pinion steering. Four-wheel power disc brakes incorporate an electronic booster, while additional upgrades include an aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan, stainless steel fuel tank and large-diameter dual exhaust with an X-pipe. Portage Trim completed the custom black interior, which features ribbed bucket seats with contrasting stitching and embroidered Corvette logos, custom door panels and a center console with a body-matched padded armrest, concealed storage and flip-out cupholders. Body-color dash accents surround red-illuminated Dakota Digital instrumentation, while modern air conditioning and a digital Bluetooth audio system add contemporary comfort and convenience. Despite the extensive modernization beneath the surface, the build maintains the proportions and recognizable character of Chevrolet’s original Sting Ray.
