Custom Corvette Built to Baldwin-Motion Phase III GT specs 427ci V8 4 speed ///
Before Lingenfelter, Callaway, or Roush became household names, Baldwin-Motion was setting the pace for high-performance Chevrolets, offering guaranteed street and strip performance and a catalog of parts that turned new Corvettes into legends. This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette, finished in Monaco Orange and nicknamed “Beauty,” captures that legacy as a catalog-correct Phase III GT tribute verified by Joel Rosen himself. Restored in 2018 after a 1,500-hour frame-off process, it features authentic Motion Performance components throughout, including a Phase III hood, reverse gills, bubble taillights, a slanted rear window, and Motion badging. Period Ansen Sprint slot mags with BF Goodrich Radial T/As and side pipes give the car the same stance promoted in Motion’s catalogs, right down to a Supercar Club decal in the rear glass. Under the hood, a 427 cubic-inch big block V8 produces an estimated 550 horsepower with a Holley 750 carburetor, Edelbrock Torker II intake, rectangular-port heads, Motion “Fly Eye” air cleaner, and chrome Hooker headers feeding side pipes. A Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, 3.70 Positraction rear end, power steering, and power four-wheel disc brakes round out the drivetrain. Inside, black vinyl buckets, factory-style gauges, a Sun Super Tach II, Bosch oil pressure gauge, Hurst shifter, Motion-style switchgear, and a RetroSound head unit create a cockpit that balances period correctness with authentic Motion flair. Documented with Joel Rosen certification, a full restoration photo album, and extensive receipts, “Beauty” stands as one of the finest Baldwin-Motion catalog builds ever assembled.
