1972 Corvette
764hp Pro Touring Corvette 427ci Kaase LSX V8 Automatic Van Steel Suspension ///
Some Corvettes are preserved for their history, others are reborn to push the limits of performance. This 1972 Corvette Stingray manages both, beginning life as a documented Mille Miglia Red survivor with Bloomington Gold Survivor and Silver Certification as well as NCRS Top Flight honors. That pedigree provided the foundation for a no-expense-spared pro-touring build, executed with the best modern components while still honoring the car’s authenticity. Finished in a fresh, red clearcoat…the fiberglass body retains its original integrity, protected by ceramic coating with partial PPF and complemented by an L88 hood, Detroit Speed headlights and wipers, and a quick-ratio 10:1 steering box. Forgeline wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis RT660 tires provide both stance and grip, while bright chrome bumpers and the classic Coke-bottle profile keep its Stingray character intact. Beneath the hood is a 427 cubic-inch LSX built by Jon Kaase Racing Engines, delivering 764 horsepower and 636 lb-ft of torque on pump gas with a GM LSX COPO block, Callies rotating assembly, Diamond pistons at 10.5:1 compression, Mast Black Label 305 heads, Comp roller cam, Jesel and Trend valvetrain components, and an MSD Airforce intake with Holley EFI, all supported by an Aeromotive fuel system, Moroso road race pan with Melling pump, C&R radiator, and custom Kasse headers feeding a 3-inch exhaust. Power is managed by a Hughes TH400 automatic with a 3,600-rpm stall converter and 4.11 gears, while a Van Steel autocross suspension with JRI coilovers, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with two-piece safety-wired rotors, and power steering deliver confidence and control to match the towering output. Inside, black bucket seats with suede inserts, Dakota Digital HDX gauges and a leather-wrapped steering wheel create a cockpit that feels authentic yet bespoke. Nearly 800 horsepower, award-winning provenance, and competition-bred hardware make this one of the most complete and compelling C3 builds ever offered.
