  • Description: Corvette is the ultimate iconic American sports car and a must for any collection. When a car elicits universal approval from small children, teenagers, old ladies and Porsche driving German millionaires alike, you know it’s pretty cool. While most corvettes are out of the price range for many people, we are pleased to be able to bring this entry level 2001 Chevrolet Corvette C5 coupe to you as an option. This particular example is dressed in all black both inside and out sitting on aftermarket black wheels. This vette is powered by the LS1 V8 engine providing 345 hp @ 5,600 RPM and 360 lbs. – ft. @ 4,400 RPM while being mated to the Turbo Hydra-Matic (Automatic) Transmission. While this Vette is affordable, it is also not perfect. With the mileage on this car, as you would expect, there is some areas of repair and TLC required. There are some dings and scratches in the paint and body, it currently has warning lights on the dash for ABS and Traction Control, and the drivers door window switch is intermittently not working. As far as mechanical side of the equation, it does have a slight oil leak from the oil pan gasket, but other than that the car runs very strong. Unlike a Porsche or Ferrari, though, the Corvette doesn’t complain when driven in low gears. While it’s fun to open her up, it’s just not smart to zip through the parking lot at 80 mph. Here is where it’s possible to see the other, more complacent side of the car-and it doesn’t disappoint. The cockpit, like the rest of the car, is low-slung and stylish. Twin bucket seats with all the latest doodads are very comfortable though can be hard to get in and out of. The dashboard is refreshingly sensible-everything is where it ought to be and, even better, there’s a digital LCD readout projected on the windshield so that the driver can keep tabs on his speed without ever taking his eyes off the road. Despite our culture’s continuous emphasis on comfort and convenience, the Corvette is still a sports car at heart, and the absence of some of the extras like side pockets and multiple cup holders might make some grumble. But that’s all right: You aren’t supposed to eat a Big Mac and drink hot coffee while driving high-performance cars. Ditto goes for the tiny trunk, which is just big enough for a set of golf clubs. This isn’t a touring car, after all. If you want lots of cargo space, buy a minivan.
