1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible 327/250 (300+ h.p. due to modifications), S.F. Bay Area car since 1973. I purchased it in 1995. All maintenance and repairs since 1995 are verifiable with receipts. Highly original car with “numbers matching” original motor and transmission. Always garaged and covered. Frame-on, bumper-to-bumper restoration completed 3 years ago.
Performance is excellent on the open road with nice acceleration and fantastic handling; just as you would expect from an example of this caliber. When driven casually it gets 20 mpg!
Considered a very high-quality driver. Trouble free and drives well with no squeaks or rattles. All chrome/stainless steel is in great condition. Super clean with patina in a few places. Award winner in many car shows. Minimal modifications such as Cragar SS wheels, “Be Cool” aluminum radiator, Holley intake manifold, MSD electronic ignition system and aluminized exhaust system with custom “H” pipe installed. New carpet set and new tires installed in 2019. Extra parts and Corvette books included.
Only 10,919 convertibles were built in 1963 in St. Louis, Mo.. This car is one of only 919 originally manufactured with a Saginaw 3-speed, non-synchro 1st gear! The original transmission is boxed and rebuildable (synchros worn out). Another 3 speed parts transmission is included with the sale.
Engine: 327cu. in. (small block), 300+ horsepower due to modifications. Only 3,892 base models built with the 327/250 H.P. motor.
Transmission: Borg-Warner T-10 4 speed manual.
Rear-end ratio: 3:36 (highway gears)
