1971 Convertible, Resto-mod LS1 5 speed
True show quality resto-mod built from the ground up with outstanding attention to detail. The suspension and drivetrain have been tuned to deliver modern performance and handling with the classic look and lines of the steel bumper C3 body.
Features a Jameson tube chassis engineered and designed for the C4 corvette rear suspension to provide excellent handling.
The front end has C4 spindles and a-arms with coil over springs and shocks.
The steering is rack and pinion and linkage by Flaming River.
The brakes consist of Wilwood and C4 components.
Wheels are chrome C5.
The end result is a ride height about 1-2 inches lower than the stock 71, and C5 size tires tucked under the car for superb cornering.
The engine is a 2002 LS1 with an LS6 intake and less then 10k total miles. The transmission is a new Tremec 5 speed manual. The instant response of the fuel injected LS1, and the close gear ratio of the 5 speed, combined with the lightweight tube chassis make it feel much quicker than the factory 350 hp.
The body is flawless with a highest level of professionalism evident in the preparation and paint quality. It is truly deserving of the gloss black finish.
Interior is fresh saddle tan leather. A new Sta-Fast black convertible top provides excellent fit and finish.
Heat and AC provided by Vintage Air maintained cool comfort during a trip thru 100 degree heat on the way to the Black Hills Corvette Classic. All while still averaging 26-28 MPG on the highway!
This Corvette is the real deal in looks, performance and drivability. Drive it to a show, open the hood and the crowds gather to see the unique quality built car that it is.
